A - Residential Area - Day

[with encouragement from Choromatsu, Jyushimatsu has decided to try working on the ship. without an allowance from their parents, it's the only way to earn money. and while everyone seems to be taken care of when they are on the ship, in regards to food and shelter, there are always other things humans want. things like extra clothes, or alcohol, or gambling cash. have you guys seen the night entertainment area? Jyushimatsu wants to spend hours there!

so, he looked for a job that seemed... reasonable. he doesn't want to work too hard, but he's all for being physical. he knows he won't be good at jobs where you have to work with people, like retail or hospitality. so it seems like the only viable option is something behind the scenes. and, boy, did he find an easy job. leaving garbage at peoples' doors? he can totally do that!

maybe you'll see him running through the residential area dumping trash in front of apartment doors. is that... why is he doing that? he's even wearing a uniform for it. or maybe you're his partner, and you notice his abundance of energy. he moves pretty fast]

Muscle, muscle! Hustle, hustle!

B - Residential Area - Night

[the days may be fun, and filled with things to do, but it's when the night comes that loneliness begins to creep in. Jyushimatsu misses his parents, and his brothers. he's so thankful that Choromatsu is here with him, but things... just aren't the same. they aren't even rooming together!

when he can't sleep, Jyushimatsu gets up to wander the residential area. he doesn't have money, so he can't go play in one of the other areas, so he's left alone with his thoughts. bad thoughts. bad thoughts about his brothers. what happened to them? why aren't they on the ship? what about their planet? he's having a difficult time coping, and he's usually so cheerful and happy. this depression doesn't suit him at all, but he can't really help it.

he finds a bench to sit on and plops down into a boneless lump. ugh, he just wishes he could sleep. actually, he wishes his brothers were here. especially Ichimatsu. perhaps if Ichimatsu-niisan were on board, he'd at least be able to sleep better]

C - New Planet - Day

[the captain said to be wary of evil scientists! that sounds... sufficiently creepy. but Jyushimatsu has explored a lot of the ship by now, and he's feeling antsy, so it's time to go outside! he eagerly awaits for the door to open, bouncing in place. and then he's met with... the wasteland. and suddenly the ship seems like a lot more fun.

but if other people are going exploring, he might as well, too! he's good at finding things to do, and has a positive attitude. so he'll make the most of it. the first thing Jyushimatsu does when he gets outside is run around the ship. yaaaay! running! it's been too long since he's had a wide open space to run in. and after running, it's time to practice his swings. yes, he stands in the same spot for hours just swinging his bat]

[up we go! and she isn't mad, it seems. thank goodness! Jyushimatsu's panicked expression settles into a nervous smile]

Really? You fall a lot?

I'm what you would call a clutz.

[ She laughs a little as she tries to dust off her pants a bit. ]

[neetfreak]

[oh... she's laughing. how cute! he laughs too, easing the tension. he's just grateful he's not in trouble. he'll have to be more careful with his job!]

Sometimes I fall down too! But I think it's important to get back up again, no matter how hard you fall!

[fortunette]

[ As sad and upset as she's been and trying to hide it since she got here, hearing that actually perked her up a bit. ]

Yeah... yeah you're exactly right. Because there is always something good around the corner!

[neetfreak]

[Jyushimatsu has also been sad. he really misses his brothers! even though they haven't been here that long, it's still a long time to be away from people whom you're used to spending every day with. but no one would be able to tell how heartbroken he is, because he's wearing a huge smile]

Yeah! That's right! [a beat, and then he bows his head respectfully] I'm Jyushimatsu!

[fortunette]

[ She flails a little before mimicking his bowing gesture. ]

I'm Marinette! It's nice to meet you, Jyushimatsu.

[neetfreak]

It's nice to meet you, too! [he's meeting a lot of kids lately!] Where are you from?

[fortunette]

Me? I'm from earth, in a place called Paris France.

[ Who knows, maybe some of the people she's bumped into here aren't from earth. it's best to specify, right? ]

[neetfreak]

[from France, zansu?] I'm from earth, too! [Jyushi flails his arms excitedly, his extra long sleeves flapping] I'm from Japan!

[fortunette]

[ She smiles brightly and scrunches her arms up all excitedly. ]

A fellow earthian!

[neetfreak]

[aww! Marinette is way too cute! She seems like someone Jyushimatsu would get along with. They can exchange earth stories! Ah... Jyushi wonders how earth is doing now, if it was really destroyed, like the aliens said.

Thinking about that makes his smile falter slightly]

I wonder how many of us there are on this ship.

[fortunette]

Or how many more they'll pick up? Because I'm sure that number will be huge!... right?

[neetfreak]

O-oh...! Yeah! Definitely! [he hopes] Lots of people! Like our family!

[fortunette]

I really hope they're okay... and my friends too. It feels terrible to think anything less than them being okay.

[neetfreak]

[Jyushi nods, in complete agreement, then taps his mouth with his sleeve-covered hand] I guess... we'll just have to wait for them, then, huh?

[fortunette]

Who knows, maybe they're on the next ship here!

[neetfreak]

Yeah! [oh, he hopes. he shifts from one foot to the other, feeling antsy. maybe a change of topic is in order?] Hey, what's Paris like?

[fortunette]

I'll tell you if you tell me what Japan is like.

[ She gives him a warm smile and laughs a little. Talking to this guy makes her feel a little more at ease here. ]

[neetfreak]

I can tell you that! [he beams] Japan is really big, and crowded! And sometimes it's a little too loud! But I've never been any place else! [aside from space......]

[fortunette]

Sounds similar to Paris! It's big, crowded, and kind of loud, but it's also really beautiful, especially at night.

[neetfreak]

[he nods emphatically. if he had a tail, it would be wagging] Yeah! That's the same with Japan! [gosh, he sure hopes it wasn't destroyed...] I really miss it.

[fortunette]

I do too...

[neetfreak]

[ah, she made a sad face! Jyushimatsu wonders if he can make her smile again, since she did such a good job at cheering him up]

Um! Hey! Maybe our worlds are safe, you know? If we ever get to go back to earth, I'll show you all around Japan! Or at least the town I'm from!

[fortunette]

[ She laughs sheepishly at first. Is there a possibility of that?... There has to be, right? Why wouldnt she have been able to save the world from destruction? No no, she has to think positive! This guy is being nice enough to try, so she has to too ]

That sounds nice...! I'll show you around my home too. And you might even get to meet some cool super heros.
